Benjamin Hamlington
Research Scientist and Lead of N-SLCT

Established in 2014, the N-SLCT seeks to improve the understanding of regional sea-level change, relying heavily on NASA satellite observations in addition to models to advance knowledge of past, present, and future sea level change. The N-SLCT supports the transition from observations of the Earth and cutting-edge scientific research to actionable knowledge for coastal communities and planners. By targeting and organizing around this flow of information, the team works to support transformative advances towards better preparedness and resilience both in the United States and across the globe.

The NASA Sea Level Change Team has adopted a considered and structured approach to transition from science into actionable information, ultimately working to address the needs of coastal communities. To meet this objective, the team hosts a number of tools with global information on the NASA Sea Level Portal, including the IPCC AR6 Sea Level Projection Tool and the  Sea Level Evaluation & Assessment Tool,   as well as domestically-focused tools. Ongoing science team investigations, which span basic research to user-focused integration efforts, can also be found on the portal.
