Two New Calls for Tender to Support Ocean Prediction and Capacity Development

Two New Calls for Tender to Support Ocean Prediction and Capacity Development

As part of its role as the OceanPrediction Decade Collaborative Center (DCC) and within the framework of the OPERA project (Ocean Prediction Enhancement for Regions of Africa), Mercator Ocean International has launched two calls for tender to support the implementation of key activities.

These consultations aim to strengthen the development and accessibility of ocean prediction services, both globally and in African regions, in line with the objectives of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.

1. Capacity Development Activities on Ocean Forecasting for Africa

This consultation aims to implement capacity development activities in the context of the OPERA project. It includes the design and production of educational tools and the organisation of training activities to support the development of ocean forecasting capacity in Africa.

2. Development, Maintenance, and Operations Monitoring of the OceanPrediction DCC Website

This second consultation concerns the continued development, maintenance, and operational monitoring of the OceanPrediction DCC website (www.unoceanprediction.org). It also includes the creation of new sections to support projects such as OPERA and to better serve the OceanPrediction community.

Organisations with relevant expertise are invited to respond to these tenders and contribute to advancing the global ocean prediction ecosystem through targeted capacity development and digital services.
